Sharon Carroll, fashion designer and owner of Double Two on Second Avenue, previously worked as an office manager. Only a desire to get out of the office motivated her to start studying again.

Sharon first tried her hand at graphic design, but halfway through her degree , she was accepted into a fashion design course at TAFE.

Since then, Sharon has had no regrets. After completing her three and a half year course, she started selling her clothes at the South Bank markets.

When the opportunity came up to buy here current shop she took it, deciding she would relish the freedom of having her own business.

Sharon enjoys hearing positive comments about here label. Double Two, and since she specialises in fashion for weddings, formals, and other special occasions, she also feels she contributed to those cherished moments.

Sharon does alterations for two Myer stores, five Lowes stores, and several boutiques, and hopes to expand this aspect of the business in the future. Another of her talents is creating outfits just from photographs, without patterns. Sharon also won the Business Award in 2002.

New fashions are always in the store, and Sharon’s spring/summer collection is on display now.

Double Two Fashion Design sells Formal wear, cocktail, special occasion wear and more casual wear with our main labels being Cordiella Street and CC collections.

Double Two Fashion Design has been in business since 1995 which started at riverside and Southbank markets selling our own label Double Two.

Owner Sharon Carroll studied at Moreton Institute of TAFE and graduated in 1996 with Advance Diploma in Fashion, a three year course, and opened the shop in June 1997. She sold her label through the shop at first but the changes in fashion industry turned out more cost effective to buy in labels. Her time was taken up quickly with the demand for alterations and dressmaking. Double two started considering that internet buying today is very popular with customers needing their garments altered.

Double Two Fashion Design also has a high reputation for clothing alterations and dressmaking for ladies and men. We are able to renovate a garment into totally new look or make one from scratch. Our rates are reasonable and we can work to a budget.

Purchases of garments on line has become popular and adjustment to the garments are usually needed. We can do this is a short amount of time.
